HAWORTH’S GLOBAL INSPIRATION AT NYCxDESIGN & ICFF

New product awards, showroom tours and design conversations highlighted during the annual citywide celebration and fair

May 21, 2024 (New York City) – Together with the global design community, Haworth celebrated NYCxDesign and ICFF with events and exhibits at showrooms across the city.

New products were highlighted with Haworth Group brands receiving the following NYCxDesign Awards:

  • Galaxy pendant lamp by Charles and Ray Eames, Cassina Lighting Collection, won the Iconic Products NYCxDESIGN award. This lamp was first presented in 1949 by Charles and Ray Eames at "An Exhibition for Modern Living,” at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Galaxy was made in the Eames Office prototype shop from automotive components and different sized brass tubes, inserted into a wooden ball. Despite considerable interest, the lamp has never been mass-produced until now. Cassina has developed this burst of light for serial production in close collaboration with Eames Office and, through in-depth research work, implemented modern technologies and materials while still safeguarding the original research process.
  • Wyn – a Haworth mobile lounge chair was a finalist for the Contract Task/Conference Seating NYCxDESIGN award. With mobility, adjustability, a dual-pivot tablet and optional accessories, Wyn gives people the option to position themselves and work tools where they want. The chair features several optional accessories, creating a truly customizable workspace for a variety of needs. Wyn is height-adjustable, can be utilized with or without a tablet and gives the user the option to add both a bag hook and a cup holder.
  • Poltrona Frau Squash Collection won the Residential Lounge Seating NYCxDESIGN award. In an inaugural collaboration, Poltrona Frau and Faye TooGood redefine the essence of luxury with bold, contemporary and comfortable pieces. For over a century, Poltrona Frau has pioneered leather craft. Meanwhile, TooGood is a British design studio known for creating timeless works of unconventional design. Together, their partnership has created this collection that is as playful and sensual as its name suggests, reflecting Toogood’s signature soft, sculptural approach to furniture design.

Haworth also offered a sneak peek at new and notable products being launched at NeoCon 2024 next month, including a presentation from Eames Demetrios, Giulio Cappellini, Faye TooGood, Lauren Rottet and Brad Ascalon. Together with Galaxy, Wyn and Squash, the Collaborate portfolio and the new Breck task chair were featured in a Haworth showroom event.
