As work locations become more fluid and workspaces more collaborative, the need for lounge seating is increasing. A collaboration between Haworth and renowned designer Patricia Urquiola, the Cardigan Lounge features a simple and sustainable design. This 3D knit lounge blends creativity and innovation for a simple and efficient design in a striking silhouette, influenced by the form-fitting cardigan sweater. Cardigan’s malleable, ribbed back supports a variety of postures and uses – from casual collaboration to restorative solitude.

Comfort meets circular sustainability in the Cardigan Lounge. Made from 100% recyclable materials, its custom-made knit is comprised of 91 recycled PET bottles with a biomass-balanced foam seat made from 100% fossil-free resources. The chair requires no glue for assembly, making disassembly and recycling effortless. This streamlined approach aligns with Haworth’s circularity goals, minimizing environmental impact throughout its lifecycle.

Now in its twelfth year, Core77 Design Awards program “remains dedicated to excellence and inclusivity…to promote their best work on a global scale.” The full Core77 Design Awards Gallery, recognizing 22 different design categories, can be found here.
