Hobson is a proprietary, dual-purpose textile in 26 colorways produced with 80% ocean bound plastic and post-consumer recycled polyester (plus 20% virgin polyester). In the recycled portion, yarns are made from 50% REPREVE® Our Ocean®, a premium collection of fiber and resin sourced from bottles at high risk of entering the ocean. Hobson diverts 33 plastic bottles from landfill per yard. In fact, Haworth has been recognized as a REPREVE Champion of Sustainability for its continued commitment to environmental excellence in diverting 16 million* plastic bottles from our lands and oceans. The use of REPREVE polyester breathes new life into recycled raw materials, without sacrificing performance, for a material that is truly timeless.
Inspiration for Hobson came from blending an old Scottish herringbone pattern typically seen in vintage menswear with new yarn technology, evoking classic suiting and sophisticated settings.
